Charis Cancer Care believe that everyone should have ease of access to emotional and psychological support services and that this should be provided with warmth, compassion and understanding.
Choosing to donate in memory of a loved one or leaving a gift in your Will, will ensure that those impacted by cancer now and in the future will have access to the therapeutic support they need.
In Memory Donations
We know that there are so many difficult decisions at an already stressful time so please get in touch if you are donating in lieu of flowers and our fundraising team are on hand to support you every step of the way.
If you are placing a family notice in the press or making donations and would like to add it to the order of service, the following wording may be helpful to you:
‘Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired to Charis Cancer Care. 163 Lough Fea Road, Cookstown. BT80 9TU. Cheques are made payable to Charis Cancer Care’.
Leaving a Gift in your Will
Making a Will with the assistance of a solicitor gives you peace of mind and ensures that your wishes are carried out as you would like them.
If you would like to leave a gift to Charis Cancer Care in your Will, you will need to have our registered address and charity number which can be found on our website.
There are several ways you can leave a gift to Charis Cancer Care in your Will:
- A fixed sum of money
- A specific item of value
- A percentage of the residue of your estate after providing for loved ones and covering administration expenses.
All gifts in the UK left to charities are exempt from inheritance tax which can also reduce the amount of inheritance tax payable by your estate from 40% to 36%. Chat to your solicitor for further details or visit gov.uk/inheritance-tax for more information.
