As our Men’s Mental Health Week awareness campaign continues, today we meet Sean Bleeks.
By sharing stories like his, we hope to encourage more men to reach out for support and to remind everyone that no one has to face their struggles alone.
“When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, it felt like my world had fallen apart.
I had never heard of Charis Cancer Care until the nurses at Craigavon Hospital told me about it, and one of the doctors encouraged both me and my daughter to get in touch.
We made contact, and from the very beginning I felt supported. I started counselling sessions and also received reflexology treatments, which I found incredibly helpful.
Since coming to Charis, I have genuinely enjoyed every visit. The support has made a real difference to me, not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.
I want other men facing cancer to know that they don’t have to go through it alone. Reaching out for support was one of the best decisions I made.
I would recommend Charis Cancer Care to any man going through cancer. I never realised just how much it would help, and now I can’t speak highly enough of the care and support I have received at Charis – I love it.”
Please remember support is available. If you or someone you know is struggling, please get in touch with us at chariscancercare.org or call 028 8676 9217. We are here to help.
