Today we meet Eoin Flood

Today we meet Eoin Flood, aged 36, who is living with terminal brain cancer. In his own words, he shares how the charity has supported him on his journey.

“I’ve been availing of the services at the lovely Charis centre since January 2025. Trying to feel good, relaxing and hope are probably one of the best ways to fight illness.
You can be assured that the Charis centre can help with all that and speaking to people who are sick and years down the line in their journey gives hope. It has been a massive help to both me and my wife.

The best thing about Charis is the staff, location and the opportunity to meet people in a similar unfortunate position. It feels like going home any time I have an appointment. The people are amazing, so considerate, welcoming and supportive.

Mental health is something that gets hit hard with a terminal diagnosis or any cancer diagnosis. I feel now more than ever that men like myself should be more open to the fantastic services available in Charis.

Having a nice cup of tea, a wee chat and a massage. It’s a beautiful place beside Lough Fea. I can’t thank the Charis Centre and its staff enough for the support our family have been gifted.”

Please remember that support is available. If you or someone you know is struggling, please get in touch with us at chariscancercare.org or call 028 8676 9217. We are here to help.
