Today we meet Bernie McCormick

💗 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

As we continue our Breast Cancer Awareness Month testimonials, we are sharing the words of Bernie McCormick from Cookstown. Bernie was diagnosed with breast cancer and received support from Charis Cancer Care throughout her journey.

Bernie’s words are a powerful reminder of why our work matters, and the difference compassionate, practical, and therapeutic support can make to people affected by cancer and their families.

“Charis Cancer Care has been an incredible source of support during such a difficult time. Having somewhere that understands what families are going through, where you can feel listened to and supported without having to explain everything.

The care, kindness and compassion shown by everyone at Charis makes a genuinely difficult situation feel that little bit easier to carry. Cancer can make life feel completely overwhelming at times and knowing that support is there when you need it makes such a difference.

I am incredibly grateful for the support Charis Cancer Care has provided to me and my family. The work they do is invaluable, and I don’t think you fully realise how important a service like this is until you find yourself needing it.”

If you or someone you know would like more information about the support available, please email info@chariscancercare.org or call 028 8676 9217
